What SMU plans to do to make up for the loss of two key contributors

SMU opens its basketball season on Thursday night at Moody Coliseum. The team that takes on Northwestern State will not look like the team of six weeks from now and beyond.

The Mustangs will be without two vital players recovering from injuries: guard Jarrey Foster (knee) and forward Everett Ray (foot).

They will be incorporating two transfers: forward Isiaha Mike from Duquesne and guard Nat Dixon from Chattanooga.

They will be introducing freshman to the college game. Forward Feron Hunt is the most promising member of the group.

“The truth is I don’t think we’ll see our real team until mid to late December,’’ coach Tim Jankovich said.
