The intersection between Courtland Sutton and Sonny Dykes' time at SMU was a short one. Dykes was hired as the team's head coach a week before the Frisco Bowl last month, which was Sutton's last game as a Mustang before declaring for the NFL draft.
It meant that the two only got to share a few practices together. While Dykes knew about Sutton's skill set before moving from Fort Worth to Dallas, it was a different aspect of Sutton that left an impression on Dykes.
"The thing that impressed me the most was just his attitude and his work ethic.
