UNIVERSITY PARK - About 75 minutes before tip-off between SMU and USC, 200 or so SMU students were already in their seats awaiting the rematch from last year's NCAA tournament loss to the Trojans. The court was empty, but soon a USC manager walked onto the court to grab ball.
The 200 students broke out in a loud chorus of boos for the anonymous team manager. It was going to be that kind of night for anyone wearing red and yellow.
SMU got its revenge Saturday night, taking down No. 14 USC 72-55, a margin that could have been far worse if the Mustangs had not missed 13 free throws.
