Three key observations from SMU basketball's first four games of the season

SMU has started the season 4-0. It's tough to evaluate fully given the level of competition that the Mustangs have faced -- Northwestern State is probably the worst DI team in the country this season -- but here are a few thoughts on the general trends shown by the Mustangs in this quartet of games.

1. The Shake Milton off-the-ball experiment is working.

Milton was a primary ball handler his first two years at SMU but with the addition of Arkansas transfer Jimmy Whitt, Tim Jankovich was able to move Milton off the ball this year and show what he can do as a shooting guard.
