UNIVERSITY PARK -- SMU closed up its spring practices on Monday with a session to cover how to defend Navy's unique triple-option offense.
While spring practices and games don't count toward the 2018 season, it's an important period for players to grow and get ready for the upcoming slate of games. Following SMU's spring game on Saturday, new head coach Sonny Dykes had a list of position groups and players that made the biggest strides this spring.

"Units that made progress, I think you look at the back end," Dykes began.
