Here are five takeaways from SMU's 49-28 win over UConn.
1. Messy. That word encapsulates the entire game for SMU. It was just a mess. This was supposed to be an easy win. Instead, there UConn was tying the game with a 59-yard touchdown pass on the first play of the fourth quarter. SMU had 11 penalties for 94 yards. Some were just silly unnecessary roughness penalties, others were for illegal formations. Those are the kind of things SMU has to avoid but did not against UConn.
2. Offensive. That's really the only way to describe SMU's offensive line play -- offensive.
