Here are five takeaways from SMU's 38-34 win over Tulsa.
1. Bowl eligible. SMU is going bowling for the first time since 2012 and the first time in the Chad Morris era. The win, which required a second-half comeback orchestrated by Ben Hicks, improved SMU to 6-2 on the season.
2. Get defensive. The SMU defense is really, really struggling of late and Friday was no different. Tulsa accumulated 182 yards in the first quarter alone and 322 in the first half. The Mustangs missed repeated tackles while defensive backs Mikial Onu and Christian Davis were victimized in the pass game.
