UNIVERSITY PARK -- It all sunk in for Courtland Sutton on Saturday. His SMU Mustangs had just lost to Memphis, 66-45. The Tigers clinched the American Conference's West Division, eliminating SMU from conference title competition.
That goal was officially out of reach, and SMU's standout receiver realized that this coming Saturday against Tulane would be his final game on the Hilltop.
It hit him again when head coach Chad Morris addressed the seniors at Sunday's practice, then one last time when he spoke to receivers coach Justin Stepp about his last real week of game preparation.
"It's all sinking in at once," Sutton says.
