SMU landed a commitment from one of the top running backs in the Dallas area on Tuesday afternoon, as Southlake Carroll star T.J. McDaniel announced on Twitter that he has pledged to the Mustangs.

"There were a lot of reasons," McDaniel said on why he chose SMU. "It's a great education at SMU. I know I will have a great degree and it won't be hard to find a job if my dream of going to the NFL doesn't happen. Secondly, all of the coaches are amazing.
