Source: Jeff Traylor to serve as SMU interim coach as Mustangs lobby on Twitter for him to get full-time job

Traylor is finishing his first season at SMU. He previously was the tight ends coach and special teams coach at Texas for two seasons. He made his name as in the Texas high school football ranks, spending 15 years at Gilmer. He won three state championships and 12 district titles at the school.

On Twitter, two of Traylor's running backs, Xavier Jones and Ke'Mon Freeman, lobbied SMU athletic director Rick Hart to hire Traylor as the full-time head coach. Wide receivers Myron Gailliard and Brandon Benson also put their support behind Traylor.
