UNIVERSITY PARK -- Tuesday marked SMU's first game back at Moody Coliseum since last week's trip to the Bahamas for the Battle 4 Atlantis.
That trip proved to be, to say the least, a mixed bag. The Mustangs scored a win against No. 2 Arizona, yes. But SMU also lost to Northern Iowa and Western Kentucky.
The tournament begged the question - who exactly are the 2017-18 Mustangs?
Tuesday's 95-64 win over UT-Rio Grande Valley showed what SMU (6-2) can be when it plays to its potential.
SMU played its typical swarming, switching defense in the first half, holding UTRGV to 25 points.
