SMU's homecoming game doubles as opportunity to advocate for survivors of sexual assault

UNIVERSITY PARK - SMU’s matchup with Central Florida on Saturday was a “Set the Expectation” game, with the Mustangs wearing blue and green ribbon decals on their helmets to raise awareness for sexual assault survivors.

Survivor and anti-sexual assault advocate Brenda Tracy came to SMU for her second straight season, though this year she did not deliver a speech to the team. Tracy attended team meetings and ate dinner with the team and participated in the Mustang Walk down the Boulevard before the game, with head coach Chad Morris keeping her company during the festivities.

“We’re raising awareness,” Tracy explained.
