Courtland Sutton has accomplished a lot in his SMU career, but before Saturday's victory over Arkansas State he had never gotten a rushing attempt.
When he got his first try, he made it count.
Sutton received a direct snap on the goal line and took a wide angle outside to reach the end zone for a two-yard rushing touchdown.
Sutton made some plays in the receiving game, too, a week after TCU held him to one catch for no yards. The junior had two catches for 32 yards in the first half.
Other notes from the game:
--SMU survived a scare in the second quarter when cornerback Jordan Wyatt went down with a right shoulder injury.
