SMU head coach Chad Morris expressed encouragement during Monday's American Conference coaches call at how Texas has reacted to the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey, which struck the coastal region of the state this past weekend.
"Our state right now is stronger than ever. You're seeing people helping each other all over our state," Morris said. "When adversity hits, you find out the best in everybody. It's so saddening to see what's happening in the coastal area of our state yet it's also very rewarding to see the people coming together."
Morris and SMU offered to shelter both Rice and Houston after the hurricane struck their city.
