UNIVERSITY PARK -- Here are some notes and observations from SMU's spring football practice on Wednesday.
--Practiced started and ended with scrimmages in full pads, with full contact.
--Sonny Dykes praised quarterback Ben Hicks for his consistency on Wednesday, saying the junior has grown in that area since the start of spring ball. Hicks connected with Brandon Benson on a crossing route for a big gain.
--True freshman William Brown also had some nice throws to Joshua Shelmire. Dykes said that Brown has shown a lot of potential but needs to work on his consistency.
