SMU spring football practice notebook: Who stood out, who switched positions and more

Here are some notes and observations from SMU's spring football practice on Wednesday.

--Head coach Sonny Dykes spent a lot of time working with the receivers, the position group with which he made his name as an assistant at Texas Tech. He coached up Brandon Benson, who got some first-team reps.

--Among the other receivers, Josh Shelmire had a nice one-handed catch, Judah Bell went up over a linebacker to make a catch during seven-on-seven and Tyler Page ran some tight routes.
