SMU roster rankings, Nos. 15-11: Featuring a senior linebacker and a backup QB with his stock on the rise

Spring football has passed and the 2019 season is quickly approaching.

With that in mind, we're ranking the best players on SMU's roster. Here are Nos. 15-11:

15. William Brown / So. / QB

As a true freshman in 2018, Brown capitalized on the opportunities provided by Ben Hicks early-season benching. The young quarterback played his first collegiate minutes in The Big House at Michigan... talk about a sink or swim environment. Brown completed 62 percent of his passes on the year, throwing for 625 yards and 7 touchdowns. Brown, who added some weight and worked on his passing accuracy in the offseason, should remain a more than serviceable backup to Texas transfer Shane Buechele.
