Here are notes and observations from SMU's fall practice on Saturday:
-- Ben Hicks had the best day of the quarterbacks on Saturday. Outside of an interception to Cedric Lancaster, Hicks was accurate and threw a tight spiral. He did a good job of leading his receivers into the right spots.
Of the other quarterbacks, Rafe Peavey showed a knack for throwing on the movie, though that might have been more of a result of needing to move playing behind the second- and third-team offensive linemen. D.J. Gillins' accuracy was off a bit and he struggled to make decisions before the pressure reached him.
