UNIVERSITY PARK -- SMU men's soccer won a thriller in the American Conference tournament championship game, with Emil Cuello striking a 30-yard goal in overtime to give the Mustangs a 2-1 win.
"That's what special is when you look and see how excited they are," SMU head coach Kevin Hudson said of his players.
SMU took a 1-0 lead in the 77th minute as defender Bryce Clark crossed the ball to defender Jordan Cano, who headed the ball into the goal.
It was Cano, though, who accidentally forced an overtime.
