SMU left to play for its senior class in season finale against Tulane

UNIVERSITY PARK -- SMU has run out of tangible things to play for. The Mustangs clinched bowl eligibility in October. The team's current three-game losing streak ended hope of winning division and conference titles.

So, SMU is left to play for something a little closer to home - sending the senior class out in its final game at Gerald J. Ford Stadium with a win over Tulane.

"I'm proud of these guys. I love them. It will be a very emotional day," head coach Chad Morris said. "While every senior class that's been a part of us has had some impact in this turnaround, this is the senior class that's truly turned this program around and got us into a bowl eligible situation.
