Back to the SMU Mustangs Newsfeed

SMU is coming off losses to ranked TCU and Michigan teams. Things don't figure to get easier against Navy.

UNIVERSITY PARK -- After two weekends of challenging top-20 opponents, it may seem like SMU is dropping back to its preferred weight class Saturday when Navy visits Gerald J. Ford Stadium.

Or, given that it's been 20 years since the Mustangs last beat the Midshipmen, maybe not.

They are riding an eight-game losing streak against Navy. Take it back a few years more and they've lost 11 of the last 12 meetings. Navy comes in 2-1 and already has a win over one of the American Athletic Conference preseason favorites, Memphis.

So things figure to get no easier for the 0-3 Mustangs against the physical, ball-control Navy offense.
