HOUSTON -- After a lot of speculation about his status, Houston All-American defensive tackle Ed Oliver played against SMU on Saturday despite an MCL strain.
Oliver didn't put gaudy numbers in the first half, but his impact was still felt. His bull rush on third down backed center Evan Brown up into quarterback Ben Hicks to disrupt his throw. The SMU offensive line was called for five penalties in the first three quarters -- three false starts, one hold and one personal foul for a leg whip.
