SMU hopes to have fully stocked secondary for game at powerful Central Florida

UNIVERSITY PARK -- SMU hopes to have safety Patrick Nelson and cornerbacks Cole Sterns and Eric Sutton back for this Saturday's game at No. 12 Central Florida.

All three missed the 63-27 win against Houston Baptist on Saturday because of injuries. SMU started its fifth secondary combination in five games this season.

"We need to get them back,'' SMU coach Sonny Dykes said. "Those are three players we count on.''

UCF, on a 17=game winning streak, features a dynamic offense led by quarterback McKenzie Milton. he figured in six touchdowns -- four passing and two rushing -- for the second consecutive game in a 45-14 rout of Pitt on Saturday.
