Guard Jimmy Whitt transferred from Arkansas to SMU with a reputation for his defense. But his rep on the other side of the court was not quite so strong.
Whitt shot 38.7 percent from the floor during his freshman season at Arkansas before his transfer. His numbers dropped even lower when he shot it behind the 3-point line, making just 37.5 percent of those attempts.
But Whitt is aware of the need to fix his shot. That aspect of his game was a focus of his during his redshirt season.
"I've been working on shooting this offseason," Whitt told Allen Stone in an interview on the program's Facebook page.
