UNIVERSITY PARK -- SMU senior defensive lineman Mason Gentry is expected to return to practice this week, defensive coordinator Van Malone said Tuesday. There is no timetable for his return to game action.
Gentry has missed the first three games of the season with a back injury. Though he will dress in full pads at practice, the team will ease him into full contact down the road.
"Hopefully he'll be okay in terms of going through the week and no flareups," Malone said. "We're encouraged about that but ... if he's not ready, then the important thing is he's healthy.
