SMU cornerback Jordan Wyatt was named the Bronko Nagurski National Defensive Player of the Week, the Football Writers Association of America announced on Tuesday.
Wyatt became the sixth player in FBS history to record an interception return and a fumble recovery for touchdowns. He returned his interception 85 yards for the score and recovered the fumble in the end zone after sacking and stripping the quarterback of the ball.
Wyatt's four career defensive touchdowns are tied for the SMU program record and is tied for the most by any active player in the FBS.
