SMU released its 2018 football schedule on Tuesday, a month before Sonny Dykes and his coaching staff start their first spring football session at SMU.
The season will start Sept. 1 at UNT. The next week's game, the Battle for the Iron Skillet against rival TCU, has been moved from Saturday, Sept. 8, to Friday, Sept. 7.
The Mustangs follow that up with a trip to Michigan followed by the first American Conference game of the season, against Navy on Sept.
