Semi Ojeleye became the first SMU player to be drafted since 2001 when the Boston Celtics selected him 37th overall in June's NBA draft. He was regarded by some as one of the strongest and most versatile prospects in the draft class, all after barely breaking into the rotation during his three semesters at Duke.
That metamorphosis was something that Georgetown transfer Akoy Agau had in mind when he decided to spend his last year of college at SMU.
"The transformation that they had with (Ojeleye) was something that I saw as very positive and was something that I kinda wanted for myself also," Agau said in an interview with SMU radio commentator Allen Stone on the team's Facebook page.
