Tennessee is turning its attention to SMU head coach Chad Morris after being spurned by Oklahoma State's Mike Gundy, FootballScoop.com reported on Tuesday night.
Morris, in his third year at SMU, is expected to meet with Tennessee on Wednesday.
SMU is 7-5 this season under Morris, who came to the Mustangs after a stint as Clemson's offensive coordinator. The former Texas high school coach has turned SMU into an offensive power. The Mustangs are ranked eighth in the country in points scored (40.2 per game) and 12th in yards per game.
Morris was previously tied to the Ole Miss job, which was filled by interim head coach Matt Luke.
