SMU head coach Chad Morris has left SMU to accept a the head coaching job at Arkansas, according to a report from ESPN's Chris Low. It comes after a flurry of reports in the last two weeks that had Morris tied to the Ole Miss and Tennessee jobs, too.
Morris, 48, finishes his three years at SMU with a 14-22 mark. He inherited a 1-11 program from June Jones in 2014 and this season led the Mustangs to a 7-5 record and bowl eligibility for the first time since 2012.
Under Morris, SMU grew into one of the most prolific offenses in the country.
