HOUSTON -- Back at Hofheinz Pavilion for the first time since his first Kansas team lost its opener to Houston in 1987, Hall of Fame coach Larry Brown noticed that not much has changed.
The old building practically shook as Houston upset No. 12 SMU, 71-68, on Monday night.
"This was like the old days," Brown said. "The noise and the environment, the atmosphere was very similar in a lot of ways which was really neat."
Not so neat for SMU fans was that their team blew a second-half lead. After winning 18 consecutive games, the Mustangs (19-2 8-2 American Athletic Conference) have lost two of their last three.
