Navy beat writer talks Midshipmen's offensive struggles, keys for SMU matchup

In preparation for SMU's matchup with Navy on Saturday (2:30 p.m., CBSSN), SportsDay spoke with Midshipmen beat writer Bill Wagner of Capital Gazette Communications. Here are some highlights:

From afar, the Navy offense doesn't look nearly as efficient as it has in years past. What would you say is the root cause of the difference this season?

Wagner: I believe the Navy offense has become somewhat one-dimensional. Quarterback Zach Abey runs like a fullback and that is how he has been used in order to take advantage of his strengths. So Navy has a fullback running the dive and a quarterback running between the tackles.
