WACO -- At one point last season, people were calling Iowa State the best one-win team in the country when the Cyclones started 1-8 in Matt Campbell's first season.
Now, despite two consecutive losses, Iowa State (6-4, 4-3 Big 12) represents one of college football's top turnaround stories heading to Waco for a Saturday meeting with Baylor.
Earlier this month, USA Today christened Baylor (1-9, 1-6) as the nation's best one-win team in coach Matt Rhule's debut season. The parallels don't end there, which is why Rhule is drawing some inspiration from the Cyclones and citing them as a blueprint for his players.
