Former president George W. Bush has made a habit of visiting at least one SMU football practice a year. Usually it's simply to wish luck to the school that hosts his presidential library.
When Bush visited Tuesday's SMU practice, though, he came with a more solemn message. Bush, who was the governor of Texas before he ran for president, wanted to offer support to the Houston natives on the SMU team who have family dealing with the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey.
"I know there's some people from Houston here and the Houston area and I know you're going through a really tough time," Bush told the team in a video shared on its Twitter account.
