From blowout to comeback to heartbreak, SMU loses a roller coaster game to Navy

ANNAPOLIS, Md. -- When SMU went into the locker room for halftime, head coach Chad Morris was livid. Navy had rushed for 357 yards to take a 23-point lead at the break. His kicker had left four points on the board while his offense was two of seven on third down.

Most of the Veterans Day crowd of 36,157 at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium had already headed for the exits with the idea that watching the end of the apparent blowout was not worth sitting through the frigid conditions.

"I was not happy," Morris said. "It was not a very pleasant conversation in that locker room.
