Packers senior football operations adviser and former general manager Ted Thompson says he has been diagnosed with an autonomic disorder that affects his body's nerves.

The Atlanta, Texas native played college ball at SMU where he started at linebacker for three seasons. Thompson not only intercepted seven passes during his career on The Hilltop, but also served as the Mustangs' captain and handled place-kicking duties as a senior. He earned Academic All-Southwest Conference honors and lettered as a member of SMU's baseball program.

Thompson signed with the Houston Oilers as an undrafted free agent in 1975.
