When Rich Phillips started doing play-by-play at SMU in 2001, his real job was doing Ticket Tickers on Sportsradio 1310, which he did for some 18 years.
The University of North Texas alum kicked off his career at the radio station in December 1995 working afternoon drive with Mike Rhyner and Gregg Williams. Three years later, he switched to mornings with George Dunham, Craig Miller and Gordon Keith.
