SMU wide receiver Courtland Sutton was named to the preseason watch list for the Biletnikoff Award, presented every season to the nation's top receiver. He proved worthy of the consideration during SMU's 54-32 win over UNT.
Sutton caught four touchdown passes against the Mean Green, tying a school record and breaking the American Athletic Conference mark. Sutton gained 163 yards on Saturday, three yards off his career high.
The junior Mustang now has five receiving touchdowns in the 2017, tied for the most in the FBS this season. What is hurting his candidacy a bit is his 22-yard season opener.
