Ben Hicks extends own school records in final game as SMU's quarterback

TULSA - Rodney Clemons picked a critical time for SMU's first blocked field goal of the year.

Clemons broke through the line and blocked the 42-yard field goal attempt by John Parker Romo and then raced to pick the ball up downfield. Clemons, a junior defensive back, then returned it 45 yards for a touchdown.

The block was critical because Tulsa had complete control of the game at the time, leading 21-7 and looking to extend the lead. SMU was pretty lifeless. The score made the score 21-14 with 11:15 left in the third quarter and put the Mustangs right back in the middle of things.
