SMU returns from its bye week to face Cincinnati (Saturday at 3 p.m. on ESPNU). Here are five things that SMU fans should know about the Bearcats before the matchup.
1. Competitive imbalance. Cincinnati's 2-5 record to start the season doesn't look great. If you look a little bit more closely, you can see that a tough schedule has played a big role. Cincy has losses to current Top-25 teams Michigan, UCF and USF and another to Navy. Granted, the Bearcats also lost to Marshall, but the tough schedule has left Cincinnati battle-tested if not successful.
