5 things for SMU fans to know about UNT, including the Mean Green's improved offense

Here are five things for SMU fans to know about UNT before the matchup Saturday at 6 p.m. on ESPN3.

1. The rivalry. The absolute basics: SMU and UNT have a rivalry that dates back to 1922. It's been a bit lopsided, with the Mustangs leading the all-time series 30-5-1. The rivalry became an annual game again in 2014, with SMU winning the last two meetings by an average of 15.5 points. This game will feature a little more energy than a normal nonconference meeting.

2. Under center. Sophomore quarterback Mason Fine showed signs of drastic improvement in UNT's opener.
