With SMU's win over Connecticut on Thursday, the Mustangs earned the right to play the Cincinnati Bearcats. Before the teams play Friday at 11 a.m. (ESPN2), here are five things SMU fans should know about Cincy.
1. Leading man. Cincinnati won the American Conference's regular season title largely behind the play of senior Gary Clark. The 6-foot-8 forward averaged 12.7 points and 8.2 rebounds per game, but those numbers don't really do him justice. These, however, will: Clark led the country in defensive rating, defensive win shares and win shares per 40 minutes. He was 10th in player efficiency rating, though he led the American Conference in that category.
