5 SMU breakout candidates to watch this fall, including this hybrid who enrolled early

SportsDay took a look at college rosters across the state to determine: Which players on each team are destined to unleash their talent this fall? Here are our five breakout candidates for the Mustangs in 2017:

5) QB Rafe Peavy

Peavey did not throw a pass while at Arkansas, but he is a former four-star recruit and was ranked as the No. 4 dual-threat quarterback in the country. SMU head coach Chad Morris is known as a quarterback guru and should get the most out of Peavey. He will battle with Ben Hicks for the starting job this fall.
