What was set to be a three day Yale Intercollegiate was shortened to two thanks to the rain that fell down on Sunday at the Yale Golf Course in New Haven, Conn. The Pirates used a strong second round on Saturday by Sammie Staudt and company to creep up from ninth to sixth, ultimately finishing there after the tournament’s final day was called off.
Staudt started the tournament a little slow with a first round four-over-par, but came back in round two with a two-over-par which featured some of her best golf as she accumulated birdies on the 14th and 16th hole, on top of an eagle on the 17th to help her finish 14th on the final leaderboard.
