The 2019-2020 Seton Hall Women’s Basketball season started off with a bang tonight as the Pirates dispatched Jefferson in blowout fashion 98-54, in their first and only exhibition contest this year. The Pirates were led by Shadeen Samuels and Iona transfer Alexis Lewis, who rained threes in her pirate debut. Samuels led the Pirates with 18 points and Lewis added 14 points, including four first quarter three-pointers.
The win was a complete team effort, with the scoring wealth being spread to numerous Pirates. The chief distributor was freshman Lauren Park-Lane, who used her quickness to infiltrate the paint, elude defenders and set up scorers like Samuels, Lewis, and Desiree Elmore.
