The Seton Hall Pirates men’s golf team finished in second place at the Earl Yestingsmeier Match Play, its first competition of the spring season at Lake Jovita Country Club in Dade City, Fla.
On Monday in the quarterfinals of the first day of the tournament, the fourth-seeded Pirates came out swinging with a strong outing against the fifth-seeded University of Toledo Rockets. Seton Hall cruised to a 5-1 victory over the Rockets, with senior Lloyd Jefferson Go outperforming Toledo’s Stephen Watts, 5 & 4. Senior Kevin O’Brien also had an impressive round against Grant Godfrey of Toledo, defeating him 4 & 2.
