The first match of the regular season for Seton Hall women’s soccer resulted in a 2-1 overtime loss against Saint Joseph’s on Friday night.
In the tightly contested matchup, neither team scored a goal until the second half. The Hall was the first to strike in the match, with senior co-captain Frankie Meier scoring six minutes into the second half. The goal was the third of Meier’s career and her first in a season opener.
After the goal by Meier, the Hawks struck back with a goal of their own at the 58th minute mark. The game remained tied for the remainder of the second half, forcing overtime.
