The Seton Hall baseball team came out flat in the first game of its four-game series with Florida International on Friday night, falling 8-3. It was the second series in a row in which the offense came out flat in Game 1 of a series.
FIU got off to an early start on an RBI single by JC Escarra that plated Irving Lopez in the bottom of the first, and scored again after designated hitter Austin Rodriguez singled up the middle that allowed center fielder Jack Schaaf to come in to score, giving the Panthers the early 2-0 lead.
