Whenever there’s coaching vacancy at a school in a top conference, the Wichita State Shockers’ Gregg Marshall seems to be the first person fans – and the school – put at the top of their list. Marshall has been nothing short of spectacular in his time with the Shockers, even making it to the Round of 32 in the 2016 NCAA tournament after winning a first-round game over the Vanderbilt Commodores and a second-round game over the Arizona Wildcats in a slightly down season.
Ironically, it’s the Commodores who come knocking at his door now, as longtime head coach Kevin Stallings bolted for a job with the Pittsburgh Panthers.
