On Nov. 5 of last year, Ole Miss was preparing to play Presbyterian College. The Rebels were actually ranked higher than they are now and had a better chance of reaching the College Football Playoff, but the mood was very different.
That’s because the week before, they not only lost to Auburn in the final minute, they also lost top wide receiver Laquon Treadwell for the season. Treadwell was inches from crossing the goal line to give Ole Miss the lead when he was grabbed from behind and pulled back. His leg broke, his ankle was dislocated.
